We here at ~monroemod are going to focus more on threading and narratives for activity. This means that you will have to participate in at least 2 threads a month with more three or more replies from your character or one thread that meets that requirement and an entry or narrative that is writing forward (ie it has significant effort put forth but does not exactly have a set word limit). We are trying to bring back the emphasis put into writing that roleplaying used to hold onto so dearly.

Activity is not only threads and written content, in order to stay active with your characters you must have an up to date friends list. If you do not then you are not utilizing all of the interaction potential that is at your disposal.

We will also have community wide threads as well as occasionally community wide plot posts to take part in, these may count toward your activity as long as they adhere to the 3+ replies each role that had been previously discussed.

Most of us have been rping for quite some time and understand the rules of the game. Do not godmod, cross the ic/ooc boundaries, bully, badger, role hog or in general be an asshole. We do understand that there is a difference between a character that has an attitude problem and a writer that is venting frustrations via their puppet.

We expect realism to occur. That means research pregnancies, they will last a full nine months unless you have spoken with us about a possibility of a complication that arises. We will not police your characters and keep them from being pregnant but please be considerate and understanding that we could ask you to hold off. We do ask you that you have no more than two of your characters in a pregnancy line at once. We may open this up later once more people generate interest in the game. Please research marriage laws and similar laws for North Carolina when choosing to go into a line involving things of this manner.

We will step in and remove you if you fail to comply with these rules. We have a one strike and youre out for crossing and bullying but we will hear you out in other instances before making any crucial decisions.

Large images and heavily worded or coded entries should be placed under a cut.

applying
You are required to have a journal and at the very least one icon uploaded. Journals should be in character and you should avoid underscores, numbers and excessive/unnecessary letters.

You are required only to have an ooc contact, an ic contact (spam post) and a short blurb of information about your character in the journal. Typically these would be located in your ooc contact post.

We will have a discord chatroom for monroemod and it will have a place to discuss ooc matters as well as ic matters. You are not required to have a discord but it will be helpful to do so.

PBs should be 16+ years old, we are allowing for characters to be 16+ as well but please be courteous and do not post nudes or near nudes of 16 year old pbs unless there is a disclaimer posted on the entry! We do not need Chris Hansen showing up at our doors asking us to have a seat over there. We do ask that you come to the mods first before deciding to bring in a character or pb that is 16 or 17 to discuss further.

Examples are required for those who only place a blurb in their journal. If you do not have examples or do not wish to submit them for your personal reasons then we require you to have a full biography. We are looking more at your scene and thread ability but would like to see your written entry and narrative examples as well. The rule of thumb would be for you to submit two scene examples and one written entry or narrative. These may be placed in your journal or in a cdj/example journal.

We currently do not have a character limit – this doesn’t mean go hog wild, bring in what you can handle! You know you the best so make your own judgment call. But we ask you to choose a variety of character types. If you have far more women than men or vice versa please consider bringing in the other sex. This also goes for people of color and varying financial or family makeup.
